The Stewart Family: February 2009

So I was on my way to Carly's JV Soccer game at St. Francis High School. I was driving on the freeway and saw a rainbow. I do believe that they are searching me out now..... I love them and they are so beautiful and bright. So I decided to take pictures of it while I was driving (DO NOT TRY THIS) It is much harder than you think. Especially in the middle of rush hour traffic.

Our Beautiful Flowers Out Front 2-23-09

Today we had some pretty hard downpours. It is nice out right now and as I was walking to the mailbox,I saw how beautiful our flowers were. Rain dampened, so I ran back into the house to grab my camera. I used some of the techniques that I was taught in one of my photography classes that I had taken a few years back. They are absolutely gorgeous (so I think highly of my photography and the beauty of the flowers).....

Someday

Someday, I would love to drive (yes, drive) to Ocean City, Maryland. I love this sign. The only time that I get to see it is when we come into West Sacramento on 80. I have told the kids for a number of years that someday I am going to take a trip and drive all the way to Ocean City, Maryland (3073 miles to go). Coast to Coast!!!!

Anyone up for the trip with me???????

Scrapbooking In San Jose 2-21-09

Kris and I signed up for a all day scrap at a Scrapbook Store not far from Nikki's house. I love this store(Scrapbook Island. It is such a cool store and has a ton of stuff the stores in our area don't have. So we got up early (6:00 a.m.) left at 7:00 a.m. and drove down to San Jose, we dropped Carly off at Nikki's apartment on the way and then headed for the Scrapbook Store. We got there a little early but that was totally ok because there is a Michaels Craft Store right next door. The day was so great and relaxed. I got so much done. Dinner was awesome, they have it catered by a little deli from across the street. It was fantastic food and we were so full. We ended up leaving about a hour early because we were so tired. We headed back to Nikki's to spend the night with her at her apartment. Her and Carly had spent the day shopping, going to the movies and hanging out. It was a very nice weekend for all of us.

The Beach 2-16-09

So today was a school holiday (President's Day). So Carly and I decided that we wanted to go to the beach. So Carly asked her friend Jessica to go with us. We got up early and drove down to Dillon Beach. Rained the whole way down there, I was thinking that we were going to be in for a very wet beach trip. We can over the last hill before you can see the ocean and it miracously cleared up. The sun started to shine and it was beautiful. We got to the beach and started walking toward the tide pools. The tide was out but not far enough that we could see a lot of sea life (bummer). But we had a lot of fun.

We talked the lady at the gate to let us into the campground to see the trailer that we once owned. It has changed a lot. I am glad that we don't have it anymore, only because of the changes that we would have had to make to it. I am still very sad that we don't have a place by the ocean to go to when we want to get a way.

On the way home we got to see the brightest rainbow that I have ever seen. It was so amazing. All in all the day was a total blast. It was a nice day trip getaway.

Valentine' Day Dinner 2-14-09

For Valentine's Day I made reservation at McCormick and Schmicks (downtown). So some friends of ours and us drove down for a very early seating (4:45 p.m.) We got a table that had a curtain to close off the rest of the restuarant if we wanted. The food was amazing. The desserts were even more amazing. We ended up spending about 4 hours there. Oops, sorry for the people that had reservations after us. If was a very fun evening out.

Kevin Fishing 2-13-09

Kevin was fishing on the Delta today. This is what he saw.... It's pretty cool. Apparently these sea lions have been seen "sunning" themselves on this bouy before.

Friday the 13th

I thought that it was only appropriate to let you all know today that I have officially sold my (possessed)Escalade. Can you believe I didn't even cry!!!! HAHA

Birds at the Post Office 2-6-09

So I had to go to the Post Office for something. So as I parked the car startled a few of these little birds. So I sat and watched them for a few moments. They were so cute, like little kids playing in the bushes with no parents around. I just had to take pictures of them. The poor little birdies are so confused since the weather has been so nice.....
