Kevin Staining the Rim of the pool March 2009

So we have talked about doing this since we got the pool and this week Kevin finally decided it was time. So he stained the rim of the pool. It looks so good and really make the pool pop now.... We will be sponge painting the rest of the concrete soon and hopefully have it done for Easter....But no promises...

My Thoughts 3-28-09

I was just thinking that when Nikki comes home for the weekends or spring break, that I am not taking any pictures of the time that we are spending together. It makes me a little sad but then I guess I am treasuring the time with her and not worrying about scrapbooking it.... Is that a good thing? Still not sure but this last week that she was here, she had a few friends over to watch the viewing of TWILIGHT the movie (we bought the DVD). I guess I have forgotten how much I actually miss those times with her and ALL of her friends. We are usually running around to appt and visiting family or having lunch at Plaza. We are usually so busy that we never really have time to take pictures. It was very nice to have her back this week and to actually be able to spend lots of time hanging out. Thanks for a great week Nikki!!!!

Carly 3-26-09

So Nikki came home for part of her Spring Break. Her and Carly decided that they wanted to lay out.... A little too cold so the answer was to get into the spa and layout in the warm water.... Not much sun but relaxing. HAHA

Carly Bowling 3-15-09

Carly had an oppurtunity to go to church on Sunday with a friend and then after church the youth group was going bowling. So Carly went and enjoyed every minute of it. I am sure it was because her mom wasn't there.

Carly's knees 3-12-09

Well we got a little bad news today from Carly's Athletic Trainer. Carly has complained about her knees hurting for years. I would take her to the doctor and she would miraculously be fine. So after a while we just thought she was the little girl who cried wolf. So I always just blew her off. Told her to ice them and get over it. What any good mom would have done. hehehe. Anyway so I was talking to the Athletic Trainer and she told me that her knee caps were not where they are supossed to be which is putting pressure on her tendons below the knee. So I gave her the option of going to see Dr. Nakano (her normal peditrician) or Dr. Ferguson (chiropractor). She chose Dr. Ferguson (we call him Fergie). So we went in and had him take X-rays and they showed that her growth plate is actually moving away from her bone. Which as you have probably guess is NOT good. So then as her examined her more he found out that her hips are out of alignment and that she is taller on one side than the other. So he is taking care of that problem for her. As for the knees, unless we want to take her out of high school soccer which only consists of about 8 weeks total anyway, she just has to wear some knee sleeves that fit tightly over her knee and keep it in place. After soccer is over this year we will take new X-Rays and decide if it has gotten better or worse and then decide to take her to Dr. Nakano and find out if she will actually need surgery. Hopefully that is the very worst case scenario. So now we wait..........

Carly Academic Awards 3-10-2009

Carly had her first ever Academic Awards night. It was in honor of all the students that have really great grades. Carly was one of them. We are so proud of her for taking her studies so seriously (most of the time). She is doing great and we hope that she continues it throughout the rest of her 4 years of high school.

Kevin's Tournament 3-8-09

Kevin was fishing at the Delta for a Angler's Choice (West) tournament.
He ended up getting the BIG FISH of the tournament.

I had to order this picture for him since his partner would not take a picture of him for me...... He says I ask for too many pictures..... Does he know who I am?????? whatever....

Carly Choral Festival 3-4-09

So Carly had a Choral Festival at Cosumnes Oaks High School. I had no idea what to expect and since I think that her teacher is an idiot, I figured that if he was involved that nothing would go as planned. Well he didn't have his fingers in this one because it was absolutley amazing. 6 different schools sang in this festival. It was neat to see how the other schools do it as well. It actually started on time and ended relatively early from what Carly's teacher had told them to expect. Go figure. Anyway Carly's school was the first to perform. I was all excited I was sitting 3rd row center and could see everything so well. So I watched them walk on stage and was admiring all the cute shoes the girls were wearing (since that's all that you can see under there long dresses). That's when I noticed MY daughter's choice of shoes (slippers). I wanted to start laughing out loud, but unfortunately it wasn't the forum for that. So I had to control myself and just giggle very quietly to myself. Well at least she wasn't in the front row. Sorry the pictures are a lot blurry(no flash photgraphy for the safety of the performers). Whatever!!!!!

A Very Special Rainbow 3-4-09

We have had so much rain in our area as of late that apparently rainbow are in abundance. This rainbow meant a lot more to me than the previous few that I have seen. It came to me on the day of my Father's Birthday. I just felt that I must have needed the little pick me up of seeing the rainbow that day. It was beautiful and the area(by the Elk Grove Automall) I was in had some very nice trees that I took the pictures with. I love these pictures.

I may enter the first one into some kid of contest. I love it!

Cooking with Kevin and Susan February 09 (3-1-09)

So for our recipe choice this month we chose Loin Chops with Garlic & Herb Butter. It was pretty good, the garlic butter had mint n it and it seemed to overwhelm my dinner but Kevin seemed to like it. If I was asked would I make it again i would probably say yes but a lot less mint in the recipe. We also had Green Beans, it is a recipe that I created myself and my family can't seem to get enough of. Even Carly can't wait until I make them. (I know shocking!!!)
